  • Child Profile Information: First/last name, date of birth, allergies, medications, medical devices, care plans/notes, and emergency contacts. You choose what to enter.
  • Support/Contact: Any information you send us when contacting support.

We may collect limited technical data (e.g., IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed, timestamps) to secure, operate, and improve the Services.

4. How We Use Information

  • Provide and operate the Services (including QR code profiles).

5. Public Availability via QR Code (Important)

When a QR code is scanned, the linked profile page is publicly viewable to anyonewith the link or code. While the intended audience is medical professionals and first responders, you acknowledge the information displayed is publicly accessible by design. You should include only information you are comfortable sharing in an emergency.

We use industry‑standard safeguards (encryption in transit, restricted access, and monitoring) to protect data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and keeping your information accurate and up to date.

7. HIPAA & Medical Disclaimer

SafeChild ID is not a healthcare provider or insurer and is not a covered entity under HIPAA. We provide a tool to store and display information you enter. We do not verify medical information. The Services are not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek professional medical advice when needed.

8. Sharing & Disclosures

  • You control the content on the child profile. Anyone who scans the QR code can access the publicly available page.
  • Service Providers: We may share limited information with vendors who help us operate the Services (e.g., hosting, email). They are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal: We may disclose information to comply with laws, enforce our Terms, or protect rights, safety, and property.

9. Data Retention

We retain account and profile information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. You can delete profiles or request account deletion; we may retain limited data as required by law, to prevent abuse, or for legitimate business purposes.

10. Your Choices & Controls

  • View, update, or delete information in your portal.
  • Request account deletion by contacting us.
  • Control which details you include on a child’s public profile.

11. Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended to be used by parents/guardians to manage a child’s information. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information to us directly, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. International Users

If you access the Services from outside your country of residence, you consent to processing and storage in the United States (or where our service providers operate), which may have different data‑protection laws.

13. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Access to QR‑linked pages may depend on third‑party networks and internet connectivity.
